During monitoring of reservation activities, it has been observed that Travel Agents are misusing inventory by reinstating those PNRs which were auto canceled by RIM after expiry of given Ticketing time limit. The agents reinstated unproductive bookings which resulted in high cancellation ratio and increased the booking/cancellation cost of GDSs to the airline.
In view of the above the reinstatement of PNR is allowed only in case of issuance of ticket is required.
Please brief all concerned in your territory to strictly comply with above. We are confident that with the support of the field offices/ Travel Agents the objective of making seats available to genuine passenger shall be achieved.
With effect from 1 March 2012, all Sales Agents involved in reinstatement of PNR again and again shall be penalized Rs.1000 or equivalent to local currency per passenger.
