Dear Community,
Profs. Gari Clifford and Matt Reyna recently brought the PhysioNet Challenges to Data Science Africa 2024 over 2-5 June 2024 in Nyeri, Kenya. Victoria Sitati and Antony Gitau from Prof. Ciira Maina's DSAIL lab at DeKUT generously helped us to run the hackathon with over 50 attendees over 4 days, resulting in over 10 teams with over 30 participants from the conference. The IEEE SPS has generously sponsored prizes for these teams and other teams from Africa, which will be announced at CinC 2024 on 11 Sept. 2024 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Please see the DeKUT DSAIL newsletter for more information about a very exciting DSA, and we hope to see some of our new friends at CinC 2024 only two months from now.
