Dear Challengers,

Today a team member asked if today or November the 1st was the deadline to submit your updated paper with all corrections we have requested. The deadline is today!
It's in all of our emails and on our website.
(As a rule of thumb in life, if you see two deadlines, the earlier one is the one to aim for ;) .)

The challenge deadline is one week earlier than the final conference deadline because this  allows us time to check your papers and request/have you implement important and key revisions. We often find that authors fail to address these in a satisfactory manner, and so unfortunately for all of us, we have to go through several iterations until the challenge papers are publishable. This extra week is a vital cushion in this process. Those that submit corrections late are often rejected.

If you wait until November the 1st and we deem that you have not addressed all of our concerns, we communicate a rejection of the paper to the conference proceedings editor.  The paper is then delisted from the official proceedings, automatically withdrawn, and the team are de-ranked from the challenge (if they were officially ranked).

If you have not responded directly to chal...@dbmi.emory.edu with a list of all your responses, and uploaded a revised manuscript by the end of today, we strongly suggest you do so tomorrow. We may decide to allow you extra time. Either way, if we are unsatisfied with your edits and responses in a week from now, your paper will be rejected. Don't wait until the last minute. It's very likely we will reject you. We will not let factually incorrect, or incomplete papers through. Please refer to the checklist we sent out last week. Almost every author forgot one or more item off that list. It takes a huge amount of time to go through these papers and identify these issues. Please have mercy on us and make an effort to go through the checklist. Here it is again:

It's just not fair to make us do this work for you. We are volunteering our time to do this.

Remember, the earlier you respond to us with *every* correction satisfactorily implemented, the less likely rejection will be.

All the best

Gari

On behalf of the Challenge team.

PS ... If you haven't received a review, please check with the person you identified as the corresponding author of the article. They are obviously the  person we will email.
