Dear Organizers, I would like to ask if having an entry with a score of 0 in the unofficial phase disables participation in the official phase. And even though the entry has that score, should the abstract still be submitted?

Best regards,

Gisela

Dear Gisela,

We understand that during the unofficial phase your scores may not be very good, but please do not be concerned - and please do enter an abstract describing what you propose to do.

The unofficial phase is important, and we require you to enter code at this stage so we can debug any key issues before the main event. For this reason, we would like you to enter something more complex than the demo code we provide.

The purpose of the abstract is to ensure you are able to communicate a given method with sufficient scientific quality and show commitment to the process.

We expect the abstract and your approaches to change significantly by the end of the competition,  both in terms of results and methods. You may also update your title before the final paper submission (with the caveat that it must not be substantially similar to the title of the Challenge or contain the words 'physionet' 'challenge' or 'competition'.)

Of course, you may withdraw at any time,  so there is no financial commitment to submitting an abstract ... just intellectual.

Good luck, and please enter early and often!
