electron in a periodic potential and Kronig penny model both are same or different? .....
Somerfeld theory failed to explain why certain material behaves like insulator even in the presence of free electrons but band theory explain that..... 
This band theory is the Base of Kronig penny model.....
I refer such information from some material...... This may correct ?... 
Please explain above mentioned difference....
One more think sir I need detailed notes of "transport phenomena in semiconductor and operational functions of junction diode and schottky diode...... 
Kindly reply me sir atleast clarify my doubt sir....
