You may know about Penrose. He is an English mathematical physicist at
Oxford. He has worked with Stephen Hawkings and also has written many
famous books including the celebrated "The brief History of Time".
Recently I am reading a book named "The Road To Reality: A Complete
Guide To The Laws Of The Universe" written by him. It is an excellent
book explaining how theoretical physics has developed from Pythgorous'
theorem to fascinating String Theory. It is popular level book but
still with very deep explanations and great details. You will have a
journey from tiny particles to Black holes. Its price is affordable
and language is easy to understand. You may like to read it.
