         I just saw your research group's picture taken at your lab on 世界日報 TODAY.

         Your team is the ONLY TEAM in Taiwan participating this US " LIGO" 

( 雷射重力波偵測站 ) project.

         You had a paper published 20 years ago on " Laser reflecting mirror's study " which gave LIGO great help on how to reduce the Laser reflecting mirror's thermal noise to increase the sensitivity of the Laser detector on 很弱的重力波.

          Because Taiwan 科技部補助你的二個三年計畫 so your team and 台灣科技部 both were acknowledged by US LIGO team which has 15 participating countries including 90 organizations.

     **  But your team is the only one in Taiwan which helped significantly to this worldwide LIGO project. :-) 

         特此再次恭賀您研究團隊的成功.

     Did your PhD candidate son at Caltech also do 重力波研究 ? I still remember that 周澤民(物72) and 施佩瑜(Phys76) 夫婦的老大在 Caltech 唸物理系大學部時, 也做重力波研究因research grants 很多. 但他們老大後來轉行做 Patent Lawyer去了. 可惜物理界痛失一名英才.

     This proof of the existence of gravitational wave was announced by Caltech scientists this week. Probably Caltech is the world center of 重力波研究.

Dear Albert,

The New York Times had very thorough reports at Feb. 11 and 12 on the history, technologies and impacts of the discovery, we physics major veterans should find much interests in those knowledges. Enjoy it !

As I myself and my team were just playing the role of a small screw in this great effort, not worth mentioning. But I am happy that Hsinchu Tsing Hua and Taiwan were not absent from this event. Thanks for your and Tsing Hua alumni's concerns.

         多謝您的分享, 譲夲班物76級又想起了倪維斗老師

(台大物理及Caltech Phys PhD). 他在我們大三時回清華任教.

他的熱忱教學及學術地位仍讓我們迄今仍謝謝他.

          您的長子Ted Jou 在Caltech Physics 讀大學部, 年紀軽軽即與

教授發表paper. 如今還是patent lawyer. 誠是一位青年才俊.

          很高興這懸疑百年的重力波終於被美國帶領的LIGO 

project 發現及証實.:-)

           聽昱寧學姊(物74級)說這個發現對於未來的太空之旅

(space travel) 會有很大的幫助( wormhole 蟲洞理論 可以縮短

宇宙間距離).
