Dear friends,

        This is the part 2 for our Phys 76 Nov. 13 dinner gathering.

        Thanks to my daughter Rebecca who set up the Yahoo Piacsa for us to view
     the dinner gathering photos. Please see it below. We had very good dinner at
     the Golden Island Chinese restaurant. Please see our gathering pictures with
     Prof. Chiang and his wife, some delicious dinner dishes and a box of Solar cake (太陽餅).
     Prof. Chiang and his wife bought this box of Solar cake (太陽餅)  at Tao-yuan airport
     to share with us at dinner gathering. This is the BEST and Authentic 太陽餅 which is
     verified by our classmate, Jwo-Rong Wang, who grew up in Tai-Chung and
     passed by this 太陽堂 bakery store daily when she was a high school student.

         You can see Prof. Chiang and his wife in these 2 pictures together with Joseph Tzou, Bill Tung,
     Jwo-Rong Wang, Chieh-Heng Hsu's wife (Jean Hsu) and Chieh-Heng Hsu, myself (sorry my daughter
     was busy taking pictures so she was not in).

        As I said in last email, Prof. Chiang and his wife are a very adorable couple. My 21 years old daughter
     Rebecca was very happy to attend our diner gathering and told me " I want my marriage to be like Prof.
     Chiang's one. They are so happy and so adorable."

          Prof. Chiang and his wife have 3 kids.

          1st one is a daughter who did post doc at UC Berkeley. Then she became a prof. at Taiwan university.
     Her expertise is Biology and Nutrition. She also won Taiwan's 10 excellent young women (十大傑出女青年).
     She was taken a picture with Taiwan President Ma.

           2nd one is  also a daughter who worked at PayPal first then at eBay after PayPal was merged by eBay.
     Prior to that she worked at Sina. This 2nd daughter graduated from 政治大學 then got MBA from Carnegie Mellon
     University. So this 2nd daughter is like her father, Prof. Chiang, who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University
     long time ago.

          3rd one is a medical doctor at a famous Taiwan hospital. I guess their 3rd one is a son.

          Prof. Chiang also has 4 siblings ( brothers and sisters ) living in San Francisco area. So he and
     his wife stay partially in Taiwan and partially in San Francisco area for their retirement. Sometimes he
     goes to Beijing Tsing Hua for some exchange activity.

          We talked abut the marriage of Prof.沈君山 and 楊振寧 who married much younger wives. Nobel prize
     winner 楊振寧 at 82 years old married his wife who was 28 years old. Prof. Chiang said some Tsing Hua professors
     commented " Prof. 楊振寧 has been dedicating all his life in symmetry of Physics. Maybe that's why he (82) married
     his wife (28) which is a good symmetry "82.28".

        You are very welcome.

 

        Thank you also for your great Japan pictures you took during your business trip.

 

         I went to Japan when I worked for Sony form 1991-1997. I was very happy to

     visit Japan for my business trip.

 

         You save us lots of money by looking at your Japan pictures otherwise we need

     to spend money to go to Japan.

I envy you guys having friends close by and able to get together every now and then.  For a Washington DC resident, all I can ask for is the potential hospitality when you guys visit DC.

         Thank you for your email.

 

         Please don't envy us, your home in Washington D.C. which  is the politics center 

   of U.S. and even the whole world.

 

         Our family went to Washington D.C. in July 2000. You gave us great hospitality.

   We met Wei-Heng Shi and Wan Shih at your home fro dinner. Pei-Yu and her family

   were out of town so we  did not meet her. But Pei-Yu and her family came to our area

   in 2001 so Chien-Chiang and Huei-Mei organized a Phys 76 reunion party at Silicon valley

   in year 2001.

 

         Your 1st son is at UCSF medical school now. You may want to come to our area

    to visit your son later ? We will have a big party again when you come here. :-)

 

         Yes, exactly like you said "Have fun while we still can".

 

         Look forward to seeing you at Silicon Valley soon.
