Hi folks

Unfortunately, our attempts to fix ongoing problems with our disks have failed to fix all the issues; users will have noticed that (while it's possible to submit jobs at the moment) their jobs will have been running very slowly.

The server has been running for nearly 4 years, so we hope that a reboot will clear accumulated issues. Taking the system down will also allow us to take time to diagnose (and fix) issues properly while not affecting running jobs.

We will take the system off-line later today.

Sorry for this, but with luck and a fair wind service will be back to normal by Monday morning UK time.
