codon support useful in SequenceType ?

I am new to this group as well as to PhyloXML.

I wonder if at some point it could be useful to have a codon support
in SequenceType. dna and rna is _aligned represent nucleotide
alignments in my view, but is not exactly what a codon alignment is.
