Hi all,

So far we have entries by Karen, Mark, David, and myself.

Can we have a few more to meet quorum ?  Please contribute to the Doodle.

Regarding the time slot, we are a bit constrained by having me in Singapore and Rutger in Holland. The optimal time to cover our various time-zones would go something like this:

7AM Pacific time = 10AM Easter time =  4PM Holland time = 11PM Singapore time

Looks like there are two days when Karen, Mark, David, Rutger, Rob and I can have a conference call: Feb 25 and Feb 27.

Shall we say Feb 25?

I can live with that date.  When would work?

How long do we expect this to take?   I now have a potential conflict that morning.  I'm not sure exactly when that other event will start (I will find out on Tuesday), but I might be able to push it a bit later in the morning.

For me it depends on the time slot, and with the time difference it's going to be a bit awkward (having another telecon with the US as well). So, it depends.

10 am EST is good for me, as does an earlier time. I have the same telecon as Rutger at 11 am EST, so later does not work.

Shall we pin down 10am EST?
Best, Rob

If you have two need to leave at 11 am EST, then I am good.  On Wednesday I would need to leave then, too (on Friday I could go on longer).  Sounds as if Wednesday will work.

Sounds good! I've started a document for notes, and put the questions that have come up over email in a rough agenda:

So I gather that we’re taking in about 40 minutes from now:

7AM Pacific time = 10AM Eastern = 4PM Holland time = 11PM Singapore time

Does anyone remember how to start a Google conference??? Please email everyone a link, or whatever it takes.

I’ll take this opportunity to share some TreeBASE stats. For the first tine we are getting more than 2,000 trees per year (see attached graph), which is a bit daunting for me (given that I’m vetting these things…).

Here are some basic summary stats:

Number of distinct authors: 9,874
Number of published studies: 4,471
Number of published matrices: 9,199
Number of published matrix-rows: 598,339
Number of published trees: 14,577
Number of mapped taxa: 113,209
Number of OTUs: 876,297

I’ll also attach the letter from Naturalis Biodiversity Center, seeing as that’s one of the main things for us to discuss.

regards,

Bill

I apologize for being MIA.
I cannot join the call but I hope that I will find out the gist of the decisions.
All the best, Val

1. everyone will need the google hangouts plugin (for video and sound): http://www.google.com/hangouts/
2. the organizer will need to know everyone's google accounts. Usually this is a gmail address.
