Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install picrust2 on my pc using conda command
- conda create -n picrust2 -c bioconda -c conda-forge picrust2=2.5.3
but I keep getting an error message regarding epa-ng (see below).

Trying to install epa-ng separately does not work either.

Here are some additional info.
Chip:  Apple M2
ProductName:            macOS
ProductVersion:         15.2
BuildVersion:           24C101
Kernel: Darwin Kernel Version 24.2.0

conda --version
conda 24.11.0

conda config --show channels
channels:
  - bioconda
  - conda-forge
  - defaults
  - r
  - free

Can you please help me sort out which might be the problem?
Thank you!
Best regards,

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

I don't think epa-ng is ported to the M2 chip, and likely won't be in the near future (unless you or someone with an M2 to test this wants to submit a fix). Do you have access to another type of machine?

Sorry for the inconvenience, and so long
Lucas

Hi Francesco,

all right, thanks. Let us know if there is any other trouble :-)

Cheers and a Happy New Year

Hi Lucas,
Thank you for the quick reply!

Unfortunately I don't have the skill to test epa-ng on M2 technology.
I will run the program using another machine!

Best regards and Happy Holidays!

Francesco
