Hello,

Sorry to bother you, but I'm working on a new release of phyloGenerator and would like some feedback from you on how to make the program better.

I'm keen to hear suggestions of how to make the interface more intuitive for users, and requests for new features. Below are some features I already intend to incorporate:
  • Integration with PASTIS
  • Phylogeny building with MrBayes
  • Phylogeny building with SATe-II
  • Molecular dating with multiple node ages in PATHd8
  • More BEAST phylogeny building options
  • More RAxML phylogeny building options
  • Updates to all bundled programs (i.e., the latest versions of BEAST, RAxML, MAFFT, etc., in the Windows and Mac releases)
  • Automatic dropping of species from constraint tree if no DNA data downloaded
  • Automatic 'merge' of species for which DNA data are missing with a congeneric (note: the user won't be forced to do this)
  • R script that facilitates manual 'merge' of species once phylogeny is built
...and I would love to hear more from you directly!

If there's something you would really like, please either email me (wdpe...@umn.edu) or put them online on the issue tracker (https://github.com/willpearse/phyloGenerator/issues).

Thanks for using the program,

Will
