hi,
I'm just starting off with phy and spyking circus, whereby we run spyking circus on a remote machine (with 64 cpus, unix) which unfortunately cannot handle the phy graphics. So I have installed phy on my laptop (windows 7) and was able to run "activate phy" locally with phy 1.0.9. However, when I then to the directory on the remote machine and run "phy template-gui params.py" from within the folder that has the params.py file, I get an error message:
Error: No such command "template-gui".

The strange thing is, I was able to run this command in the manner described above with an earlier version of phy. However, since some of the windows in the gui weren't showing any data I was advised to go with the developer version, which now just doesn't seem to recognize "template-gui".. so I'm stuck.

It would be great if ayone had any ideas what could be the problem, and/or any suggestion on how to get this to work!
cheers,
John

Hi,
Can you try to delete ~/.phy and reinstall phycontrib? Otherwise do "phy --debug" and send me the output?

Hi,

I am using mac Os Sierra 10.12.6 and I have a similar problem:

(phy) fabiovallone@Fabios-MacBook-Pro:~/KiloSort-master/eMouse/Spikes/eMouse$ phy template-gui params.py
Usage: phy [OPTIONS] COMMAND [ARGS]...

Error: No such command "template-gui".

I tried to delete ~/.phy  and reinstall phycontrib but It did not work . This is the output of the "phy --debug" command:

(phy) fabiovallone@Fabios-MacBook-Pro:~/KiloSort-master/eMouse/Spikes/eMouse$ phy --debug
15:25:32 [D] config:46            Load config file `/Users/fabiovallone/.phy/phy_config.py`.
Usage: phy [OPTIONS] COMMAND [ARGS]...

By default, the `phy` command does nothing. Add subcommands with plugins
using `attach_to_cli()` and the `click` library.

Options:
--version   Show the version and exit.
-h, --help  Show this message and exit.
(phy) fabiovallone@Fabios-MacBook-Pro:~/KiloSort-master/eMouse/Spikes/eMouse$

Please, could you help me?

Best,

Fabio
