I would like to announce the Phoenix event for World Usability Day
2007 (www.worldusabilityday.org) on November 8, 2007. The Applied
Psychology Program (www.poly.asu.edu/saas/appliedpsych/) and Cognitive
Engineering Research Institute (www.cerici.org/index.html) at ASU's
Polytechnic Campus have graciously agreed to host the event on their
campus in Mesa. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. on the evening
of Thursday, November 8, 2007. There will be no cost to participants
to attend the event. For more information, please see an earlier note
below.
We are now actively seeking sponsors, presenters and vendors to
participate in the event. We have a little more than two months to put
together a spectacular event.
Sponsors will have an opportunity to promote themselves by covering
event expenses (WUD registration, food, refreshments and give-aways).
We will have a raffle to give away World Usability Day promo items
(WUD backpack, etc.) and other sponsored items, such as products,
services, books and gift certificates. Any sponsorship ideas and
efforts are welcome.
The agenda and format for the event is totally up to us. We can have
presentations, panels, displays, case studies or anything that
promotes usability in general. Although the world-wide focus is on
healthcare, the local events do not need to solely focus on
healthcare. If you would like to present or have any ideas for
presentation topics, please let us know.
We have room for a small number of vendor tables/booths. If you would
like to set up a vendor table at the event to promote your company
services or products, please let me know.
We will also want to promote this event in local newspapers, magazines
and online Blogs and websites. If you have any ideas or connections
regarding the promotion and marketing of this event, please send them
on.
Finally, please volunteer your time and efforts to help with this
event in any way you can. We have taken the first step by setting the
event time/location and a sponsor/host for the event facility. Please
help! This is the first event of its kind in Phoenix and we all want
it to be a great success!
Regards,
Theo
