Wow. Very surprising turnout -- much larger than I had anticipated.
Thanks to everyone who came out. Special thanks to Brian Shaler who
posted found the meetup and posted it to the [url=http://
groups.google.com/group/refreshphoenix?hl=en]refresh phoenix google
group[/url]. Quite possibly this post brought the most people out.
So, first things first. Communicating on meetup is fairly atrocious.
So, I've created a google group to manage input. I'll cross post
meeting reminders to both, just for coverage. You can find it here:

So, for a wrapup. This was a fast paced discussion that covered quite
a few areas of user-centric design. Some highlights include:
* iPhone, and the use of gestures within the interface
* Jared Spool's comment on UEx investment vs an applications
usability. Most everyone agreed that this comment was way too opaque
to have any real merit.
* Techniques and methods to initiate the user centric design process
* Software documentation, and its trappings
* Software affordances and progressive disclosure within interfaces.
Basically, how to create software that permits learn-ability, yet
still accommodates the power users.
* Ways to "sell" UEx practices.
And much more. If you attended, feel free to post your thoughts to the
google group.
I'll set up a recurring meeting on a monthly basis for anyone who
wants to attend. This was a great plenary meeting to meet everyone.
Next time, I'll set up a core topic to address. Expect some
homework. ;)
Of course, the offer still stands for suggesting content. This group
is for the members, and I'm open to your input.
Cheers,
Todd Moy
