I have Passenger 4.0.27 on Ubuntu and I saw a blog post about attaching a debugger or a live process via passenger-irb.  However I do not have that binary installed.  I checked in the gem itself and it only has the following six files in ./bin:

passenger
passenger-config
passenger-install-apache2-module
passenger-install-nginx-module
passenger-memory-stats
passenger-status

Does passenger-irb actually exist?  Was it removed?

Hi Gabe,

passenger-irb definitely exists, but it is a tool that ships with the
enterprise version of Passenger. You can get a license and download it
at http://www.phusionpassenger.com/download for a small monthly fee.

Kind regards,
Tinco
