I've been trying to get Passenger 2.0.2 to work under Mac OS X 10.5.4
on my MacPorts-installed Apache 2.2.9. It compiles fine, but when I
start Apache via apachectl, it immediately dies, with no error in the
error_log. It's mysterious, especially because I can't find anyone
talking about it on the net, but I've now replicated it on two
machines.

Also, Passenger works fine with the standard OS X Apache - but, of
course, I don't want to use that.

If anyone has any insight into why this might be happening, that would
be amazing.

Thanks!

Maybe because Passenger is being compiled against the wrong Apache
headers? Make sure you point the APXS2 environment variable to the
correct 'apxs' program. More information can be found in the users guide.

Hongli,

Good call, but no dice. I made sure before I compiled it that I was
using the right apxs. I wish that was it, but it seems to be something
worse.
