Stuck instances of passenger

Happy holidays everyone!

I couldn't find someone in a similar situation in the archives. There's this one, but no one answered. Basically, I have several passenger instances that have been stuck for the past 3 days. I don't know how to reproduce this. I haven't killed these processes because I'd like to find a way to automatically resolve this problem.

I'm on CentOS 5.5, Rails 3.1.1, Passenger 3.0.9
