PassengerAppGroupName and restart.txt

When using PassengerAppGroupName, by default there is only one tmp
directory to put the restart.txt file. It appears that one of the
instances that shares that directory is getting restarted but then the
others aren't because the timestamp on the file gets updated by the
first one. Is there any way to work around this? Could I set
PassengerRestartDir differently for each of the instances?
