Nginx with Passenger slow?

Hi,

I have an Nginx with passenger setup for running six Ruby on Rails
applications that previously used Apache-Mongrel configuration. I use
the Ubuntu 8.1 OS. Apart from the default settings in the nginx.conf,
I have made one other change - set passenger_pool_idle_time to 0.

However, I find that the apps are slower than before. User response
time has increased from 3-4 seconds to 6-12 seconds.

Am I missing out on some specific setting that can improve
performance?

I don't know what's causing your problem, but it shouldn't be caused
by bad configuration options. Something might be wrong with the system
or there might be a bug in your application or in Phusion Passenger.
