PHSN Band - Mr. Benson Paternity Leave

Dear PHSN Band Students & Parents,
As many of you know, my wife and I will soon welcome our first child. We are very excited to meet our son!
As part of welcoming our son, I will be taking paternity leave for roughly 8 weeks. I wanted to inform you of my upcoming absence, as we have now confirmed a scheduled delivery for our son this coming Tuesday, March 4. Baby Boy Benson is already quite big, and we have been advised to deliver a bit early for the health of the baby and mom. I will begin my leave this coming Monday, March 3.
PLSD, the Band team, and I have worked carefully to secure a long-term substitute for my position. His name is Mr. Ben Miller. Mr. Miller holds a Music Education Degree from Capital University, and is a graduate of the Pickerington Band program. He will do an EXCELLENT joining the Band team in my absence.
Dr. Parulekar will be taking over leadership of Symphonic Band, and Mr. Guirreri will be taking over leadership of Concert Band I. Jazz Band will be shared amongst the director team, along with our student teacher Mr. McMullen. The team has been preparing in case the need arises to step in for me at the District LG performance event, which has now been put into motion. I know the students will do a great job, and am proud of how hard they have been working to prepare for this event.
During my leave, you will receive communication and program updates from Dr. Parulekar and the Band team, beginning with details soon regarding our District LG Adjudicated Event performances slated for Saturday, March 8. I will return toward the end of the year for the Spring Concert and Graduation. My wife and I are so grateful for all of the students, families, and staff that have wished us well and helped us prepare for Baby Benson. We look forward to this new adventure, and know the PHSN Band is in GREAT hands in the coming weeks.
