Taavo was the choir director of Penfield Baptist Church for a brief time …. He wrote a special cantata that he encouraged the small choir to sing.

Taavo was truly an amazingly multi-gifted artist with boundless energy and great devotion to his students. He taught at PHS, conducted the community orchestra, held Heidi's church job, and at the same time he was completing his doctorate at Eastman. Few people knew that he was also an accomplished professional violinist (he actually came to my home to teach me periodically when I was not studying at Eastman). Imagine what a privilege was ours to have known him, played under him and learned from him!
