Is anyone else also finding Microsoft Edge to run incredibly slow with phpspellcheck?

Haven't had any reports Bruce. Is this a recent install?

Yes, brand new install. Any reports on this?

Hi Bruce

Tested in edge on this page and on the included demo:

Both loaded in under a second in Edge.

Are you running an old beta of edge?

Are you perhaps testing in a virtual machine?

When we tested in an unoptimised win10 virtual machine we got very bad performance for every site.  This was because every ajax request caused the host machine to try and re-size the virtual hard disk.  Woops.

Could it be an installed plugin in edge?

Could it be you are out of ram?

I, and others in my organization, are having very poor performance in Edge browser, relative to the size of the content being checked.

www.phpspellcheck/Performance

When I click the spell button, it takes 46 seconds to display the first spelling error. Before that, Edge shows the dialog as not responding.

Windows 10.0.14393
Edge 38.14393.0.0 (Windows update run today, but this happened previous to the update)

Not in a virtual machine
Lots of free RAM
No extensions installed
Other users in my company have reported the same problem

With the Edge profiler, it takes over 2 min to show the first spelling error. From 30 seconds to 2 minutes, it is at 100% CPU utilization, all scripting

JS call stack shows (exclusive CPU):
recieveWindowSpell 61.25%
recieveWindowSetup 25.56%

The same thing is happening in our application where we are using a licensed version of phpspellcheck.

Please let me know how I can provide any more details.

Thank you,

Trevor
