Password error - fresh install

Hello, all:

I've just set up SQL and installed phpshop, done all the configuring
as best I can tell according to the documentation supplied with the
download.

I get the following error on hitting the site:


Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: in /mnt/w0602/d49/
s13/b02fb678/www/demo/WEB-INF/db/db_mysql.inc on line 84
Database error: connect(localhost,dbuser,PASSWORD) failed.
MySQL Error: ()

Any ideas? I've tried modifying password and other settings, but I
don' know where to look next.

look like you need to create a database, and assign a username/password for
access to that database. or supply the correct host to connect to
(localhost refers to the same machine that the webserver is on, in case you
weren't aware).

if you use phpmyadmin ( http://www.phpmyadmin.net/ ) you'll have a nice gui
interface for doing all your mysql admin stuff.
