Development status?

I noticed (AFTER switching to Sqlite!) that the last stable update was two years back - and there's an independent fork for php 8 friendliness. Is phpliteadmin still under active development? I did see the version in development which is php 8 compatible, but it's still a development, not stable, version. I don't ask to be insulting, I know sometimes development can be pretty slow, I'd just like to know and suspect I'm not alone there... thanks.
