In order to become a participant in the project phpDays you should
leave a reply to this message, which indicate your role in the project
(php developer, web designer, documentation translator, html coder,
JavaScript developer).

To do this you need to have an email adress @gmail.com and join to
this support group.

Additional information is available at: http://code.google.com/p/phpdays/wiki/EnCoding

I am most confused tell me how many hours per week phpDays expects us to
work on the project, how many people we have working on the project
working how many hours. I personally am up to my neck with work and real
life at the moment. I still intend to try to put in a few hours a week
to phpDays. However I am feeling like it is expected of me to put a few
hours a week, which if is the time commitment that is required of me I
should know so that I do not let you down without my knowledge.

You accepted to project.
Start from reading http://code.google.com/p/phpdays/wiki/EnDoc - how
to translate documentation. Create you own page De and start
translation process.

Translate only pages, available on http://code.google.com/p/phpdays/wiki/En

Regards!

Danilel, no problem.

It is desirable to give the project at least 1 hour a day. This can be
done after the main work. You can take a few hours a day off (I do it
on Sunday. On Saturday - all day full rest without PC).

I recommend subscribe to RSS feed, and after work hours update the
list of changes in the project. This will keep abreast of recent
development.

Hi Anton,

I am a CS graduate and a PMP. Recently I have been learning
technologies related to design pattern (MVC for example), PHP/Zend,
and Hibernate. I am looking forward to make use of the book knowledge
to contribute to the phpdays project. That means it requires some
learning curve for me to pick up. I am however determined to spend a
decent amount of time per week to this project.

I am impressed with your devotion to this project, and at the same
time know you are a busy man. Please bear with me in the beginning. I
am mostly interested in developing, coding, and testing. Of course if
you think you need more help in other areas we can discuss further. I
am very flexible.

Thank you, please let me know.

If in doubt where to start, writing unit tests for the existing code
might be a good starting point.
Leave a comment in http://code.google.com/p/phpdays/issues/detail?id=16
and tell which class/subpackage you would like to unit tests (that
will help to minimize merge conflicts.)
If you find it's hard to write a unit test, write an integration test.
The goal is to refactor the code to make it testable, but it's nice to
have _some_ tests before doing it.

We are using PHPUnit: http://www.phpunit.de/
