Hello Everyone,

can anybody help me how to support Marathi and hindi languages in website?
I am developing a website which need to be supported by both languages..

[Note: I want to use it with PHP]

the idea should be so easier that it should not require user to download the font and should be browser independent.

Thanks to all in Advance.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL @ PHPCAMP GROUP.

Regards,

Hi

CREATE TABLE tablename (fieldname) ENGINE=INNODB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8

use above query to generate tables which are going to store marathi characters

and before firing query to table fire this query "SET CHARSET utf8" every time

and use char set utf-8 for every html page

look: http://roochakkeboond.org.in/rkbuser/home/index.php

Thanks and Regards,

@Rahul and @Sameer,

My basic problem is about font. which font I should use in the website so that it will be acceptable anywhere.
I mean user should not require to download the font.
I found that we require .eot files which are open type fonts. my I know from where can I get those font files?

And Yes If internationalization is going to be way I will prefer that!
If anyone who has already gone such way or have already developed such website ( supporting Indian languages ), so guidance from them will be helpful.

Regards,

Harshal.

Harshal,

Please follow the steps below;

1. Create an HTML page.
2. Open the link below.
http://www.google.com/transliterate/Marathi
3. Type whatever you want to translate in Marathi.
4. Copy that content from that editor to your HTML file.

Using this there no need to install any font in clients browser. Please check it will help you.

I am attaching one test file. Please let me know if there are any issues.

Regards,
Pradip Jadhav
