Transfer single file from server to server?

Is there a simple way to move a single file like a jpg or gif image from
one server to another via URL?

I have searched Google with no luck. Only found large complicated
multi-part scripts. There must be a simpler or more basic way. If anyone
could assist or point me in the right direction it would be most
appreciated.
