how to use solr in windows with PHP

I have been searching this for several days. People said we can not
use solr for php in windows. I googled a lot, and found some solr
extention for PHP, php_solr.dll, but when i downloaded and enabled in
PHP extension, I always got errors.
1. these pre-compiled extensions are only valid of php5.3, no problem,
I can install php5.3
2. these extensions are only for PHP5.3 VC9, but I need to use apache
server instead of iis, so I can only use vc6 for PHP. even more, if I
installed php vc9, all the entensions can not be found and loaded!

Are there anyone who ever successfully used php_solr extension in
apache server with windows OS? Sorry, I am a windows' lover and not
ready to go to linux only because this issue. If you have ever done,
please kindly tell me how you did it. please post the link to the dll
you used.

This mailing list is for the pure PHP implementation of a Solr client
(code.google.com/p/solr-php-client) - which shouldn't have any
problem on windows. Though maybe someone on the list will have tried
using the compiled pecl extension on windows.
