Hello everyone.

Cor, what a week. What a conference!

I wanted to "swing by" and offer, a well deserved, congratulations to Sam Lambert, Andrew Taylor, and Jamie Hurst for putting together a well received conference. A huge thank you needs to go out to James Mills, Chris Kemper, Craig Lumley, and Jamie Sterling too for helping plan and deliver the day. Each of these guys dedicated time and effort (some 6/7 month's worth!) into the conference, and it's safe to say that it couldn't have happened without them.

The unwritten mantra behind the conference was "a conference for the user group, by the user group" and I think the team delivered this in spectacular fashion.

We're already made commitments to deliver PHPNE14, so once the credit card is paid off, and the dust has settled, I'll be in touch again to get things moving. We've learned a lot of lessons delivering this year's conference and we're hoping this will just make PHPNE14 even better.

If you attended and haven't yet left feedback on joind.in, please take a few moments to do. As well as the talks, you can leave feedback on the conference as whole or even individual elements (lunch etc) so it's really useful to us.

Finally, I'd like to thank our sponsors Sharpe Recruitment, Bytemark, PHG, Visualsoft, Thap, Inviqa, and Sunderland Software City. Barring the obvious financial support, many offered practical support along the way and I'm grateful for that. If at some point you just so happen to bump into our sponsors, please congratulate (and thank!) them for supporting us.

Thanks again,

Anthony Sterling - A proud PHPNE User Group member.

Hi,

Thanks for the note Anthony.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Anthony, Sam, Andrew and Jamie for dedicating so much of their time to helping put on such an amazing conference. An extended thanks goes out to the other members of the user-group who helped on the day, I personally think we did a great job ;-)

What an absolutely amazing conference it was.

The conference single handedly pushed the PHP North East community to the top of the 'one to watch' list for many other communities around the country, dare I say world! I understand there other others looking to create their own user groups off the back of attending the conference. The conference has not only helped boost the PHP North East community but has also helped raise the profile of each and every one of the user group members.

I feel extremely proud to be part of the PHP North East community. A bunch of polite, helpful and encouraging developers! I would like to thank you all for helping make our community what it is today.

There is only one thing to add and there is no way a little thank you note in an email will ever repay a certain someone for their time, dedication and enthusiasm. Mr Sterling, we salute you! Thank you.

Cheers,

James
