On my production server running
Apache/2.2.17 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8j FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_jk/1.2.27
mod_fastcgi/2.4.6 PHP/5.3.5 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8
MySQL client version: 5.1.3
Everything works as it should.

However I JUST upgraded  my localhost server to...
Apache/2.2.22 (Win32) PHP/5.3.13
MySql 5.5.24

All the php and mysql works as it should BUT any output
from the GoogleMaps  3.0 library does ONLY this...

getHeaderJS();?> getMapJS();?> printOnLoad();?>

What have I forgotten to do regarding the apparent inability to recognize javascript code.
That may not even be the problem. I'm  using a WAMP server and possibly there is
something (new) that needs to configured. I am a loss to know what is  wrong.

You need to enable PHP short open tags.  http://www.php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.short-open-tag
