James and I have been talking about dates to revive phpAppalachia,
we're thinking Late August to Mid September for date range. I've also
been thinking of cutting it down to 3 days, Friday being completely
open in regards to coming in (I'll be there past noon or something)
and the event goes Friday Night, All Day Saturday, Sunday until 6 (or
something like that)

The date ranges we see are
August 20th-22nd
August 27th-29th
September 3rd-5th
September 10th-12th

Please everyone weigh in on what you think the date range should be so
we can set a date and start calling cabins to get things arranged.

The 8/20 and 9/3 dates look good for me, the latter of which is also Labor Day weekend.

I can't make it Labor Day weekend (that's always DragonCon weekend), but
if that's the best weekend for everyone else, then don't shift things
around on my account. :-)

I will likely have drills in my mouth Aug 20. Other than that, I'm game!
Thanks,
Catherine

Looks like I can do Aug 27-29 or Sept 3-5.

I'll be in Texas by then so I'm unlikely to make it so no vote here.

I think I'd actually prefer Labor Day weekend (gives us the Monday to
travel back). Beyond that, I should be up for any of the proposed date
ranges.

I have things going on for the August 27th and September 10th weekends (as well as the weekend after). I think I'm going to have to pass on Appalachia this year; that timeframe is getting a little too busy.

Unfortunately, I'm getting married this year which means the honeymoon eats the available vacation time. I've been told no conferences until after my 1-year anniversary (save OSCON this July), so I won't be able to make any dates in 2010. :-(

Now a good wife would go with you to all the conferences and consider it vacation time ;)

I think you'll be safe taking a half day on Friday to get in,
especially if this winds up on Labor Day weekend, and yes def. bring
the wife, I've been talking with Eli and Matthew Turland about the
possibility of a Spouse "track."

We're actually planning a trip to New York on Labor Day, but any other weekend we'd consider it.

I am looking at bringing the wife as well, so a Spouse track would be great.

A kid track would be interesting also ;) thats my only limiter... Prying the kid out of my wifes grasp for more then one night isn't easy.
