The NATIONAL ACADEMY OF PHOTOGRAPHY (NAP), based in Kolkata, is all set to provide a unique platform of learning to those interested in pursuing a career in professional photography as well as to anyone looking for a way to enrich and perfect his or her flair in the field. This photographic academy is the first of its kind in EASTERN INDIA. PERSONA - the Home of Image Makers is constructed under the watchful eye of NAP. The association is a means of expression for the talent that yearns to sprout from within the Students of NAP. Its primary concern is to promote photography as a self-expression media as a powerful art form and lets one can share one’s artistic as well aesthetic experiences.
19th August is a very special day for photographers. On this very day, it was publicly announced that photography has been invented in the year 1839 in Paris. This day is celebrated as World Photography Day throughout. The World Photography Day Celebrations were held since 2005 by us in NANDAN FOYER, spreading from Gaganendra Pradarsasala to Nandan II and Nandan III.
On this auspicious day we look forward to organize an Invited International Exhibition. The Invited International Exhibition will be held at NANDAN, the Prestigious Cultural Centre of KOLKATA, Govt. of West Bengal from 19th to 23rd of August 2009 to develop the awareness towards Creative Photography.
We wish the presence &/ good wish for the Exhibition of “NAP-PERSONA-International - The World Photography Day, 2009” on 19th of August 2009 at 6.00 p.m. at NANDAN.
