I have used ProGold software in the past. However, I have purchased a
newer computer that runs on Vista. I upgraded to the Producer.
Installation (I have installed and reistalled several times, disabling
my virus protection each time) seems to be OK until I try to use the
software. I get an error message telling me that the software was not
installed correctly. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

You must have the current version of Producer and
1- you must run the installation program being as administrator (right
click on the icon then "run as administrator"
2- once you have installed it, you must run ProShow also as
administrator (you may save this information in the properties of the
program)

I run Producer on 2 machines, one with Windows XP and the other is on
Vista.
The program does have it's problems on Vista. It has been awhile since
I put it on the computer.
If i remember right, the tech support talked me thru the problem. You
will find a few bumps in the
road on Vista but it will work. When we upload a show to our Photodex
account, the process sometimes
hangs up and we have to restart Producer, then it will almost always
upload the next time.
Another thing to try, when you click to up load and the box closes and
the process seems to start, it will hangeup,
but if you click on the upload button again and leave the box open the
process will continue.
I am sure that Photodex is working on Vista compatibilities. I have
have been thru it with other
windows versions having used Proshow and up for several years. I
still love the program.
Good Luck.
