Ecommerce Shopping Cart error

Hi-Just set up a shopping cart and all seems to work except the first item , which, when I click on "add to cart" does not give a price prompt. Instead, it says "Are You sure you want to empty the shopping cart?"....which is already empty. Even if I say "yes", I still get the same window instead of a list of prices.  Any idea why/how to fix?
