Edit the metadata associated with each image. Photocrati does not handle this function well . . . I actually find it easier to add captions via PHP myAdmin directly to the appropriate columns in the mySQL tables than to use the very clumsy interface Photocrati provides.
According to Photocrati the whole gallery system will be revamped when they incorporate the NextGen gallery technology in a yet to be announced upgrade of the theme.
When you edit a Photocrati gallery you will notice an 'Edit Metadata' button. If you click on that button you will be presented with the opportunity to add caption data to each image.
If you are familiar with EXIF data, I have had some success editing the EXIF data prior to importing images into a Photocrati gallery. By doing this metadata fields you would normally edit individually are populated at the time of import.
