Google analytics doesn't work, why?

I have placed the code for Google analytic in the box that say it should be placed in and it doesn't work. I tried the footer as sugested by photcrati and it doesn't work. so I did what google suggest I should do in the footer php file and it doesn't work. I am all out of ideas. I use this service for everything and never have I had such an issue wit getting the service to work for a site before especially when the site says its made for it and has an option for it... Help please I have looked all over the web with nothing showing exactly how this feature is suppose to be installed to make it work.
