We are reactivating our mailing list today after a long pause, and we write to you with good news;
The fifth edition of PhotoKTM is taking place from 25 Feb - 31 March 2023!
We dedicate this edition of the festival to gather, as a community of storytellers, to think about what role we play to help restore voice and agency to the natural and non-human world. You can read more about the thematic focus this year HERE.
PhotoKTM5 will platform an exciting lineup of participants from Nepal and around the world. It will host exhibitions, workshops, review sessions, and the South Asia Incubator program, among other core and collateral public programming. You can follow festival updates HERE.
Our Opening Week of public programs will include talks, discussions, screenings and will run from 25 Feb - 2 March at Yalamaya Kendra, Patan Dhoka. Please click HERE for the full program schedule.
The 2023 PhotoKTM Bhoe (traditional Newa feast!) will take place on Saturday, 25 Feb from 7:30 - 9:30pm in Khapinchhen, Patan. This year we are raising funds for a bird friendly neighborhood garden project :) Please see details HERE and buy your tickets before they run out!
PhotoKTM is committed to the visual, to the public, to history as well as to contemporary practice in all its plurality, to artistic, political and ideological expressions and actions that disrupt and resist but also repair, and to creating time and space to come together to describe the world, and discuss the world with shared concern and agency.
