Greetings all +++

Why do we collect things? How do our collecting practices relate to identity, culture, history and knowledge keeping? How do our collections speak of our fears of loss and erasure?

This Saturday, Feb 3rd from 11 am - 4 pm at Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal, we are hosting a gathering of collectors of seeds, matchboxes, farming tools, instruments, old photographs, coins, cassettes, bus tickets, and many other things. The event is free and open to the public. Please join us and help us spread the word!

This event is part of our 4-day symposium titled "Reimagining Museums in Nepal" organized in conjunction with our ongoing exhibition The Sovereign Forest.

Have you visited The Sovereign Forest yet?

About The Sovereign Forest

Rooted in the socio-political landscape of Odisha, The Sovereign Forest emerges from extensive work in a region that has witnessed conflicts between local communities, government entities, and corporations over control of agricultural lands, forests, rivers, and mineral resources.

The Sovereign Forest includes a constellation of films, texts, books, photographs, seeds and processes that initiate a creative response to our understanding of crime, politics, human rights and ecology.

See you soon!
