It gives us great pleasure to announce this call for applications for 10 Archival Research Fellowship positions for the second phase of the Feminist Memory Project.
We are looking for applicants who are based outside Kathmandu Valley and can produce, record and create oral histories, collect documents and photographs to add to the feminist archive, and focus on producing deep histories from their local area.
Requirements:
- All candidates have to be based outside Kathmandu
- Candidates must be willing to travel around in their own areas for research, taking full COVID-19 precautions. All research fellows will be provided with Covid-19 insurance coverage. NPL will work closely with grantees to best prepare them for personal safety as well as the safety of the communities they are interacting with.
- Should have a wide knowledge and network of local and surrounding region/s they are based in
- Experience or interest in working with visual material, oral history, and public history
- Must be able to arrange or have access to their own sound recording device (a smartphone with good audio recording, any other recording device, microphone, etc)
- High preference will be given to candidates who identify as women and are based in Madhesh
- Must have a consistently strong internet connection. Research fellows will be provided with extra mobile data packs.
