Greetings all+++
We are pleased to invite you to the opening of a new exhibition;
WHO DOES THE RIVER BELONG TO?
OPENING
Friday, December 13th, 2024
4 -6 PM
Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal, Kathmandu
On view until December 22nd, 2024.
This exhibition features Aman Shahi, Amit Machamasi, Deepa Shrestha, Kishor Maharjan, Priyanka Tulachan, Samagra Shah, Sanjay Adhikari & Shreena Nepal, Sara Tunich Koinch, and Sundup Dorje Lama.
These storytellers invite us to rethink the story of progress, how we have come to embody it as individuals, communities, and nation-states, and how it has singularly led to the plunder of our rivers, our forests, and our lands.
Please follow our social media
announcements for the public program schedule including talks, guided tours, a cooking session and a drumming workshop!
The works presented in this exhibition were produced during the 2024 photo.circle fellowship program. Mentors for the fellowship program included Bunu Dhungana, Diwas Raja Kc, Kishor Sharma, NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati, Prasiit Sthapit, Sagar Chhetri, Shikhar Bhattarai and Uma Bista.
The exhibition is organised by photo.circle in collaboration with Jane Goodall Institute Nepal (JGIN) and Indigenous Without Borders (IwB) as programming partners.
The exhibition will be open every day 11am - 6PM from December 13th - 22nd, 2024 at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal. It is free and open to the public.
We hope to see you at Nepal Art Council!
