7:00 – 8:30pm NST | Queer Records: A South Asian Collab: Aziz Sohail, Sumitra Sunder, and Diwas Raja Kc
PhotoKTM4 invites Aziz Sohail (Pakistan), Sumitra Sunder (India), and Diwas Raja Kc (Nepal) to bring together practitioners from across South Asia to open up new perspectives on queer art practice and posit them in a regional archive that serves as a site of collectivity, speculation, and creation. Through this collaboration, we project queerness as a category that is faithless to borders and boundaries. During this year-long initiative, writers, artists, and cultural practitioners will be invited to describe and document the broader South Asian region queerly. Nepal Picture Library will home these impressions on an online platform dedicated to the project. As a launch event for this engagement, this panel invites the three conveners/curators to present their work as well as their visions for the coming year. Please register here

Wednesday, 9th Dec 2020

7:00 - 9:00pm NST | Artist Talk: Monica Alcazar-Duarte
In her projects Monica Alcazar-Duarte seamlessly mixes images and new technologies, such as Augmented Reality, to create multi-layered work. In recent years Monica has mainly focused on the human relationship with Nature and our current use of technology and science as an attempt to gain control over it. Through the use of interactive images Monica’s work engages audiences in the process of producing meaning through seemingly disconnected narratives. Alcazar-Duarte’s work confronts our obsession with speed, growth and a better future, and highlights our collective failure in accepting Nature’s evolutionary systems with its slow but incremental change.
