I'm not sure if there's a place for it at this event or not, but I
would absolutely love to do a "beginner's" break out session. Topics
could be as short as 30 minutes or as long as a couple of hours. I
would not presume to tell experienced or professional photographers a
thing, mind you. But I have taught photography and photo editing at
the university where I work, and I have also written a few articles
for beginning digital photographers:

http://lifehacker.com/software/photography/how-to-take-great-digital-portraits-159432.php

http://lifehacker.com/323605/master-your-dslr-camera-part-1-program-mode

http://lifehacker.com/328488/master-your-dslr-camera-part-2-manual-mode-and-more

Will there be any opportunity to do this kind of thing at the event?

Scott, of course! We want everything from beginners to experts, amateurs
to professionals... As long as you love photography, there is a place
for you.

Hi All,

C2 would love to provide beginning or advanced sessions on Photoshop, Adobe Bridge or Lightroom (or best practices for digital asset management).  I also have a couple contacts at Widen Enterprises, who might be a good fit for sponsorship.

Let me know if there's a fit for us as presenters, etc.  Also, Jim Conway, my brother and biz partner, is a pro photographer and pro instructor, I'm sure he could do some sessions on studio lighting or anything you might need.  Let me know how we can support PhotoCamp MKE.

Yes yes yes! Beginner sessions please!
Teach me how to navigate my new DSLR, set manual settings, etc.

Beginner Photoshop would rock my socks as well.

As you can see, I'll be on the learning end of this event! :D

I'm really excited about this idea.  If we're going to have one or more sessions geared toward the "I just got a DSLR and I need to learn what i can do with it" crowd, perhaps we should make it extra clear in the promotional materials that such beginners are encouraged to attend the event.

Agreed...

I want to collect up everyone's ideas, so we can have a big list, and
the get people to sort of volunteer ahead of time to shepherd those
sessions/ideas so we can promote them.
