When you launch Netflix on XB1, it shows your most recently watched show on the top left-hand side of the screen. Clicking on this tab will resume the most recent episode you watched, but as far as I can tell there is absolutely NO WAY to get back to the screen where you can choose a different episode to watch.

While hammering buttons at one point, I hit B and it did take me to that screen, but that only happened once. Every time I hit B during an episode now, it just takes me back to the launch screen with the most recently watched episode in the top left again.

The only way I've found to consistently pick a different episode to watch is to scroll through my list of saved shows and click on the show from there. That's a royal pain in the ass when you have as many shows saved on your list as me.

It's almost a non-issue considering shows look better on my 360 and PS4 than they do on the XB1 on Netflix. The XB1 over darkens the picture for some odd reason. But occassionally I can't be arsed to switch consoles after I've been playing a game on the XB1 and want to watch an episode of The 4400 or something...

I think to change episode, you have to actually find the show either through the search function, or via one of the other tabs. From my experience this is the only way, and you cannot change episode if you resume from the "Recently Watched" section. I had the same problem whereby it skipped an episode of Sons of Anarchy, and then wouldn't let me choose another unless I found SoA via search. Hopefully that makes sense.

I personally put the shows that I am currently watching, at the top of my list on the computer, which makes them appear at the top of the list on the Xbox One as well. You can then simply click on the show at the top of the list on the Xbox One, and select the episode that you want to watch.

You can switch episodes if you find it in the "my shows" tab that has all your saved shows/movies on it, but since that tab is extremely disorganized (why doesn't it sort them by date added to the list or alphabetically or something??) it's still a pain. Still it's better than having to type it into the 'search' function.

Still can't believe they didn't just mirror the various other Netflix apps and had to recreate the wheel, thereby screwing it up. I dunno if they'll fix it asap though. I mean it's already been out for 3 months lol.

Things are starting off well. After configuring my display settings and my wireless network, the setup tool opens the Roku webpage to create a Roku account and sync my box up with that account. All in all the process was straightforward and went off without a hitch.

Once the syncing with a Roku account finishes, up comes the main menu; this same menu greeted me any time I started the player afterward. It isn't as flashy as many other players, with only a few options including a settings menu for the player, the channel store, and a few default channels the Roku wants to draw your attention too (Netflix, Hulu Plus, and the Amazon VOD store). Hulu Plus shows up as "Coming Soon" at the time of writing and we do not yet have a specific timetable for when that will be available; the website simply says November 2010 so it could be any day now.

Once inside the channel store, you can pick and choose from the Roku's list of supported content and add the channels to your main page. Pandora was one I quickly singled out. There is an extensive list of the publicly available content for the Roku available on their webpage; there are also private channels available through some of the Roku forums, and a quick search of the web will reveal some of the user generated content out there. These are channels not available in the channel store, but you can add them to your Roku player via a code process. If you still can't find your favorite web content, you can try downloading the Roku SDK and developing your own channels.

The implementation of the individual channels really varies. I found the Netflix channel with a search function excellent and easy to use, while a few others like Chow was just an endless series of videos I had to scroll through and back to find what I wanted. The above gallery has images of the store, as well as the Netflix and Amazon VOD interfaces. We'll add images for Hulu Plus when it becomes available.

I am new to SharpTools and home automation. I just got the Homey Pro and have opened the door to the things that comes with it - very exciting! I am writing this post to get both help and inspiration from the more veteran users that might use Sharptools for the same reasons as I do (see below).

Cooking timer function - Would love to have a tile that is a kitchen timer, as in you are boiling eggs and you need to set the timer for when they are done. Would love to have this in the dashboard and not a hyperlink if possible.

Music control - We have Sonos and use Spotify, have anyone managed to get a search function into the dashboard itself? I saw that there was a beta project for spotify playlists which looked very promising! But ideally it would be great to be able to search for specific songs within the dashboard. Maybe this is asking to much?

Entertainment control - I might be really asking for to much with this one, but if there is a possibility to control netflix (and other streaming services) from the dashboard I would be in heaven. I have connected our TV to Homey and can bring it into SharpTools, so I think I can find a way to start the TV and open a specific app with the click of a tile on the dashboard, but would be great if possible to start specific programs.

Lists - Would loooove to have a shared grocery list on the main dashboard. A linked document ideally that me and my wife can both access on our phones and add items that are displaying on the list on the dashboard.

Regarding the cooking timer, the only issue I have with it is that if I embed it it brings in everything on that site and that sort of breaks my design I realize that someone with more HTML knowledge can probably solve that and its not really a Sharptool thing, but a user thing.

Thanks for helping out, @Philip_Peeples ! As you mentioned, I moved some of the side discussion where other community members asked how this was accomplished into its own thread so-as to keep the main Show Off Your Dashboards thread focused and to allow the side discussion to blossom as needed.

I have a Sharp Roku TV and it keeps dropping whatever I'm watching and switching to the Netflix login screen every 5 minutes or so. I'll be watching a movie on Amazon Prime or HBO and the screen will just go black, and switch over to Netflix. I went to the main menu and checked for the most recent software update, and it's up-to-date, so I'm not sure how else I can fix this. Please help. Thanks!

This would appear to be a remote issue. Please contact your TV's manufacturer directly to report this issue and request additional support. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS.

For my specific issue I finally have an answer. My son is pushing the "cast" button on his Ipad. It had nothing to do with the Roku, remote or TV and everything to do with casting. My son has low vision and hits the wrong icon when trying to perform a search.

There is something wrong - i am watching prime and it keeps switching back to netflix and my son gets logged out from Netflix on the Ipad whenever this happens. Very annoying - it happens often. This seems to be a bug Roku needs to fix it.

My TCL Roku keep switching to HBO this is ridiculous! TV only a year old to be having issues. I need some answers now! I would not be purchasing another TCL tv wouldn't be recommended to family members or friends.

The days of going into a video rental store, browsing for a good VHS or DVD by reading the back of the box and then taking it home are clearly over. There won't even be any company-owned Blockbuster's to visit next year.

But the days of browsing for something good to watch certainly aren't over, and Netflix wants to make it easier for you to find movies or videos that you might like. The streaming video company announced today a new look for its TV interface that will make it simpler for subscribers to find and browse content or make \"smarter choices,\" as Netflix VP of Product Innovation Chris Jaffe says.

The new, more visual interface displays more information about the recommended movies or TV shows. It features three rotating images from the movie or TV show, a shorter synopsis and some other highlights that might interest you, including whether your friends have watched and whether the title has won any awards.

The search function has also been updated to be more eye-pleasing. So instead of text-based results, you'll now see a visual grid of tiles. The kids-experience section has also been spruced up, making it easier for children to find videos with their favorite characters.

The new Netflix TV experience will be available on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, as well as on new Smart TVs, Blu-ray players and the Roku 3 box. It will begin rolling out today to some of those devices and be available globally in two weeks.

In 2024, the company is further improving the digital shopping experience, building generative AI into its search function to deliver customers a helpful and intuitive browsing experience. Using a combination of Walmart proprietary data and technology and large language models, including those available in Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, as well as retail-specific models built by Walmart, the new design serves up a curated list of the personalized items a shopper is looking for.

Both Walmart and Microsoft share an aligned vision around how AI can help organizations and their people be more productive, more satisfied in their work and go on to solve the most pressing problems.

My HP stream (a year old) hasnt got enough memory to perform a required update, and keeps prompting me to delete unused items. All I have saved is maybe 2 word documents so I cant understand it? I only use it for online study, ive deleted all downloads, xbox, netflix etc. Are there any other programs I can safely remove? I cant understand what is using the memory as ive had 15 word documents stored previously and there were no issues with the memory.
