As a participant in our Engineering Rotational Development Program, you are part of a community of more than 10,000 technical professionals around the globe. You will work with the best in the business as an engineer developing products and solutions.
The Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) - Product Development track includes design, validation, simulation and product support engineers working in research and development, new product introduction and continuous improvement. Over 12 to 18 months, you will rotate between assignments that will grow and develop your career.
During the program, you will foster your technical and leadership skills through integrated foundational training, as well as coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. When you complete your last rotation, you will return to your hiring organization for a three to five-year assignment.

First, you will spend 18 months in product engineering, with work in failure analysis, research or development. You will then spend another 18 months in process engineering, with work in heat treating, casting, coatings, and supplier development. Once you complete the program, we will place you in an assignment at one of our facilities across the U.S.

Rotation assignments can include research and development, design and analysis, structural testing, automation, facility welding engineering, operations supervision, purchasing, and specifications and standards. It's documentation says that it's a header-only library, and that I should "directly integrate it into my source files with #include ." It also depends on a few other libraries, one of which I need to use directly as well.
I played around with various CMake functions, and it either gave the error "No such file or directory" regarding caterpillar/caterpillar.h itself, or it gave "cannot open source file... dependent of caterpillar/caterpillar.h" depending on how I messed with the cmake file.
caterpillar's document describes how to include their headers in a traditional style, assuming the readers could understand this and decide where to put the headers themselves. (which means you don't need the whole git repo but only the "include" dir.)
The CAT-to-DB9 adapter cable is suited for use in most Caterpillar heavy duty vehicles - incl. trucks, transit buses, excavators, construction machinery and more. The cable lets you connect your CANedge/CLX000 CAN logger directly to the CAN bus.
In heavy duty vehicle fleets, the simplest way to record J1939 data with your CAN logger is to connect it directly to the CAN bus via a DB9-J1939 adapter. This way, you'll automatically start logging all broadcasted raw J1939 data from the vehicle - allowing you to e.g. set up telematics solutions in no time. The CANedge/CLX000 support optional 'silent mode' to ensure that the device does not affect the CAN bus.
In some cases, you'll need to be able to both log broadcasted J1939 data - and request data from the CAN bus. Many J1939 parameters are only available on-request. The CANedge/CLX000 can send custom CAN messages when in direct connection to the CAN bus. The DB9-J1939 adapter enables this when 'silent mode' is disabled.
The J1939 adapter fits the vast majority of heavy duty vehicles. However, cases exist where you'll need e.g. an OBD2-DB9 adapter or an alternative heavy-duty adapter. We encourage you always visually evaluate the vehicle in question. If in doubt, feel free to take a picture and contact us. If you need a cable not available on our site, please let us know as well.
The most dangerous caterpillar in the United States is the puss caterpillar or asp (Megalopyge opercularis; shown in the image below), the larval form of the flannel moth. It is found throughout the Southeast, from Maryland to Mexico. It is especially prevalent in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. Stings from this species are common from June through October. [1]
