phoshare on linux

Hi,

I'm about to migrate away from OS X to linux. I'm currently looking for solutions to export my iLife data and phoshare looks like a really neat solution to extract my photos from iPhoto.

In the docs I read, it looks like phoshare is an OS X application, but since the code is in python, I was wondering whether there is any strong dependency on OS X. Would it realistically be possible to run phoshare on linux to extract photos from an OS X partition?

You will have a couple of problems with that:

- Phoshare pulls in some Mac specific Python files to deal with aliases 

- unless you get very creative with symbolic links, it will not find any of the images, because the image paths are all absolute.
