Progress bar while Uploading / downloading a file using FileTransfer

Hi,
Is there is a way to display a progress bar to user (% of file upload / download completed) with phonegap's FileTransfer. I could not see API providing any callbacks to implement this. How can I achieve it?

It is a proposed upgrade to the API but currently does not exist.
