[Android] Reopening app after navigator.app.exitApp();

Hi, 

I'm facing a weird bug : i've bound the physical return button to navigator.app.exitApp() in order to exit the app.

It works fine, but when i'm returning in the app, the display is not fully displayed, the app seems to works fine, but only 2/3 of the page is displayed, the other 1/3 displays only the background color.

Is it possible that when returning the index.html is not fully loaded ?

Just curious: does this space equal the size of the soft keyboard? Also, does it occur on device or on emulator or both? Is it consistently 1/3rd at the bottom on all different kinds of resolutions?

Some precisions:

I noticed that this space is not always the same, i can navigate to other page of my app and some have a bigger space (equivalent to the keyboard), some pages are totally fine (no space at all), and some have a smaller space than the keyboard. And some page doesn't work at all. I use JQTouch if it can helps.

It's really weird. I checked the adb log i'm not finding anything usefull.

This is the same behaviour in the emulator and in my two devices.

If you attach weinre to it and then force a page reload in weinre's console, does that take care of the empty space?

Also, if you do an orientation change (assuming your app supports it), does that take care of it?

• Wow, that's weird. When i attach weinre the bug disappear, the app works like a charm. I can resume it and come back without any problem.... No display bug..

Actually, putting a <script src="thisdoesntexist.js"></script> cause the app block a little bit the loading, and resolve the problem...

But i want to find a better workaround ;-)

And if i put this hack on the bottom of the page, it doesn't make the app slower, and it resolve the problem..

Hey Thibault,

Can you provide details as to what device you are seeing this problem
on, such as model, Android OS, version, phonegap version, etc.

I would like to file this in our issue tracker so we can try to track
down the root of the issue and solve it properly.

I have this problem with:

• Android 2.3
• Phonegap 1.6  (i'm working with 1.6, but i've this problem since i started with 1.3)
• Emulator Android 2.3
• Samsung galaxy SII, Nexus S.

I would like to give you more information, but it's a closed source software, infortunately i can't give you a peace of code to try to reproduce this issue. But i'll try to make a sample app to with has this issue.

I have filed the issue here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-865

If you get to putting together sample code to reproduce, please post
it to the above issue thread. Providing the sample code would
definitely help in having our developers take a look at it earlier,
and potentially fixing faster.

Okay, i've succeed to make a sample.

It is there:
