I have replaced  jQuery Mobile with JQmobi

After a few test I can say that it's faster. Test and see if it's better

Are they compatible in the sense that I can simply switch libraries? If not, does at least most syntax stay the same or do I need to account for a rewrite?

The "basic" syntax stays the same. 

I have found that some plugins that work on jQuery mobile don't work on JQmobi.

So, you need to test, test, test
